MEDIA TECHNICIAN
Public Media Management service (“PMM”) offers clients the ability to prepare and distribute content, including video and audio, to any platform, whether web, mobile, broadcast, over-the-top, etc., through streamlined and automated processes. The Media Technician team operates the Network Operations Center (“NOC”) and serves as the first line of support for clients.
The Media Technician is responsible for:
Providing client support
Serves as first line of support for clients.
Communicates with clients about operations of PMM and any concerns or errors that clients report, troubleshoots problems remotely, and counsels clients on actions they can take on equipment located at clients’ sites.
Prioritizes client concerns and escalates as appropriate to technicians and vendors.
Communicates with management about client relationships and proactively helps steward client relationships.
Keeps appropriate records of client communications, steps taken, etc.
System monitoring and support
Monitors computers, servers and network systems; interprets console messages from system software or applications program, and performs required actions.
Troubleshoots system errors working with technicians and vendors as needed.
Working with Tier 2 technicians and vendors, ensures maintenance of system.
Maintains records required to supplement console log, including problem documentation and actions taken, computer utilization logs, file identification, and similar data.
Content management
Enter media asset metadata for content received
Perform quality control checks on media as needed
Qualifications:
College degree with 2 years’ experience in media or technology and/or a degree from an accredited media engineering school with appropriate training certification
Excellent communication skills
Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with clients through excellent interpersonal skills, responsiveness, credibility, knowledge and patience
Must be extremely efficient, organized, detail oriented and focused to mitigate risk of error
Troubleshooting experience
Knowledge of system messaging and metadata
Experience with automation systems
Able to rapidly absorb and implement new technologies and procedures
General knowledge in the following applications:
Digital asset management applications and processes
Microsoft: Word, Excel, Outlook
General knowledge of film, video and audio formats, and digital encoding and compression formats/techniques
Prior experience with Sony Ci, Crispin automation or Myers ProTrack a plus
Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate clients’ 24/7 needs
